Program Description

The Neurodiagnostic Technology curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to obtain recordings of patients' nervous system function through the use of neurodiagnostic equipment and other electrophysiological devices.

Course work includes communication skills with patients and healthcare personnel, taking appropriate patient histories, electrode application, documentation of patients' clinical status, waveform recognition, management of medical emergencies, and preparation of descriptive reports for the physician.

Graduates should qualify for the ABRET Exam and, working under the supervision of a qualified physician, may be employed by hospitals or private offices of neurologists and neurosurgeons.
