HSE 170 - Recovery Services

This course provides an in depth assessment of the array of services, resources and supports that people in recovery from mental health and addiction issues need to be successful in their communities. Topics include how to model and teach basic life skills needed in recovery such as advocacy, finances, job skills/professionalism, housing options, educational options and creating meaningful communities, while learning how to model and teach appropriate boundaries both personally and professionally. Upon completion, students should be able to assess models of wellness and recovery that enhance client outcomes through a researched approach to recovery and strategize ways to build recovery communities.
