This course traces the cultural, political, economic, social, religious, and intellectual history of Europe during the Middle Ages. Topics include the decline of the Roman Empire, the Frankish Kingdoms, the medieval church, feudalism, the rise of national monarchies, urbanization, and the rise of universities. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze significant political, socioeconomic, and cultural developments in medieval Europe. (S10435)
