Course Descriptions

Please Note:
Prerequisites: A course taken prior to another course.

  1. CFCC administers one placement test: NCDAP. Satisfactory scores on placement tests taken at other colleges (SAT, ACT, COMPASS) may be used to waive Reading, Writing and Mathematical prerequisites. See the Placement Test Advising Guide, for additional information or talk with a counselor.
  2. Receipt of transfer credit for ENG 111   or above will waive the Reading and/or Writing prerequisites for certain courses.
  3. Receipt of a curriculum math credit will waive the prerequisites for certain courses.

Some courses in communications, humanities/fine arts, mathematics, natural science, or social/behavioral science may fulfill a general education requirement in one of the following programs: AA (Associate in Arts), AS (Associate in Science), AFA (Associate in Fine Arts), AGE (Associate in General Education), AAS (Associate in Applied Science), DIP (Diploma), or CER (Certificate).     This course introduces the basic elements of the music business. Topics include copyright law, musical arrangements and abridgements, recording and songwriting contracts, agents and managers, performing rights organizations, and the musician’s union.
